The 18th Ajimu Fair “Wine Festival”

Ajimu Town

It is held in “Ajimu” at the Family Tour Village. There are various events such as sampling Ajimu wine, bazaar and so on. You can have your fill of Bungo Beef and wine, just right for autumn which is the season for good food.
 
The 21st Taketa Takigino
(Oct.9th)
*Takigino…Japanese Noh drama played outdoors
Taketa City
For this event, the crescent-shaped rock carved on the north cliff of the Oka Castle is lit up and a special aquatic stage is set up in front of the crescent rock. Several Noh plays are showed, such as “Shimai” (Noh dance with plain cloth), “Kyogen” (Noh farce) and classical Noh. The fire flames wavering on the surface of the Inaba River under the stage take the audience into a subtle and profound world.

Kebesu Festival (Oct.14th)
Kunimi Town
This is the fire festival which is held at Iwakurasha-Shrine on October 14th every year. “Kebesu”, who wears a mysterious mask, tries to jump into the fire and men who wear white gowns try to stop him with a long pole. The “Kebesu” and the men swing around a bunch of fire-lit fern and it is said that a person covered with fire sparks will be in good health throughout the year.
 
Doburoku Festival
(Oct.17th~18th)
Ota Village
It is a famous festival known nationwide. Pious worshippers fill the precinct to pray for the well-being of their families, or for perennial youth and longevity. It is said that one may enjoy perennial youth and longevity by getting drunk on “Doburoku”, a sweet and pleasant-tasting home-brewed sake (Japanese wine).
